Ny is an elderly widower and retired engineer.

He lives out his days in silence and loneliness in the same room in which he was born. He grew up watching his father repair items that came into their room by conveyor. When he was old enough he took on the job and the room himself, sharing it with his wife.

After a lifetime of experience, he possesses skills and knowledge that have all but disappeared from The Levels. Under GovCo rule however, everyone is taken care of so that no-one needs him anymore. With nothing to do and no-one to talk to, he spends his days sitting quietly and waiting for his next meal to arrive.
